This practice report is based on the Chinese-English simulated consecutive interpreting.The source text comes from the audio and video of the 2020 Summer Forum by Narada Insights.Parts of the speeches and dialogues of the forum moderator and four guests are selected to identify the major interpreting problems and discuss the related interpreting strategies.On the basis of the Interpretive Theory,the case study of this practice details the interpreting problems and strategies in the process of interpreting practice,such as culture-loaded words,Chinese run-on sentences,non-subject sentence,information redundancy,logical confusion,and blind spots of knowledge reserve.There are four chapters in this report.Chapter One introduces the background of interpreting practice,pre-interpreting preparation and simulated practice process.Chapter Two expounds the theoretical framework of this report,including the quality criteria for interpreting and the interpretive theory.Chapter Three presents the case study that analyzes the typical interpreting problems from four dimensions,i.e.the lexical,syntactic,discoursal and cultural levels.Chapter Four concludes the simulated interpreting practice from the perspective of improvements and prospects.
