Purple sand mud is called five colored soil.It has deep color,soft and delicate,and strong plasticity.It is a high-quality material for sculpture.Purple sand sculpture has a long history.During the Ming and Qing Dynasties,there were many art masters,such as Xu Youquan,Ou Zhengchun,Chen Zhongmei,Chen Mingyuan and so on.Most of these people took pot making as their profession and spare no effort to make purple sand sculpture.The flower goods,washing and stationery in purple sand ware are mostly made with relief techniques,but purple sand sculpture,as an independent art category,has not received due attention,which is not only due to market factors,but also related to the efforts of artists.After the reform and opening up,western art thoughts poured in,the market economy took off,and purple sand sculpture also ushered in a new development.Both in terms of theme and artistic expression,it shows a different face from the past.The innovation of contemporary purple sand sculpture is reflected in the bold breakthrough of traditional themes,the comprehensive application of materials,the personalized expression of texture,the general treatment of form,the complexity and diversity of aesthetics and so on.Purple sand sculpture art has gradually changed from paying attention to realism and craftsmanship to emphasizing originality and personal innovation consciousness.In the process of my graduation creation,I also tried to absorb the characteristics of contemporary art,trying to make the image of the work different from the past and give people a refreshing feeling.Only on the basis of inheriting the traditional crafts and making innovations can we create works that meet the requirements of the times.
