In the past ten years,the study of sound culture has gradually emerged in academia,providing a new perspective for the study of Zhao Shuli’s novels,allowing us to see a“Zhao Shuli with a voice”.This article attempts to show the different aspects of “the voice of Zhao Shuli" from multiple perspectives.From the perspective of space,three typical auditory environments can be extracted from Zhao Shuli’s works,namely village temple,square and venue.These spaces have their sound order and sound politics.The sound of the village temple obeys the patriarchal order,the sound of the square is open and equal,and the sound of the venue is organized and political.The internal order of different spaces is not determined by physical conditions,but constructed by subjective will,so the change of the soundscape of a certain space is also one of the signs of social change.In Zhao Shuli’s novels,narrative voices can be divided into individual voices,collective voices,and author voices.Individual voices refer to voices that tell their own experiences in the first person.In novels,individual voices are often placed in front of the collective,and their legitimacy is given by the collective;collective voices refer to common voices or a collection of various voices,which is the best way to express the will of the group by making the group image of the peasants emerge.The author’s voice is the voice of the omniscient and omnipotent storyteller.The author uses this voice to filter out the redundant semantics in reality and make the theme of the work clear and clear,to meet the ideological requirements of the time.From the perspective of Bakhtin’s "translinguistics",there are three types of discourse phenomena in Zhao Shuli’s novels,namely,official tone/opinion polls,working people’s words/intellectuals’ words,and national language/dialect.Every type of discourse phenomenon has the voice of the peasants,such as polls,dialects,and the words of the working people.Zhao Shuli not only presents his understanding and perception of the voice of the peasant group from different dimensions but also confirms his identity as a "land stall writer" in the opposition of self/other.Along the two communication paths of writing-reading and speaking-listening,two different creative mentalities and modes can be established,namely the mode of writing novels with the aim of improving and the mode of telling stories with popularization as the priority.In this way,we can see the double dilemma Zhao Shuli faces in creation and acceptance.To meet the creative requirements in a specific era,Zhao Shuli has to constantly adjust and try between "novelization" and "storyization".
