| The fundamental task of education is to educate people,and it is necessary to promote the all-round development of all students and realize the fairness of education to let all students enjoy the well-being brought by education equally.English teaching activities bear the important responsibility of promoting students’ development.The phenomenon of passive silence in English class of pupils cause the decline of teaching quality,digestion of students’ equal right to enjoy English teaching process,and hinders students’ all-round development.Therefore,it is imperative to promote the fairness of the teaching process,improve the quality of primary school English teaching,improve the negative silence phenomenon in primary school English class,and promote the all-round development of students.Based on constructivism theory,output theory and learning motivation theory,this study adopts literature method,observation method,questionnaire method and interview method.It is found that the negative silence phenomenon exists in different degrees in primary school students’ English class,and it is distributed differently in terms of age and gender.The negative silence students are mostly the underachiever.The negative silence behavior of primary school students in English class is diverse,and the students’ attitude towards silence is slightly biased.The reasons that lead to the passive silence in English class of pupils are various: lack of knowledge reserve and oral expression ability,concern about class interaction,lack of motivation in English class learning,lack of teachers’ skills in class questioning,lack of teachers’ attention to students,and inappropriate ways of dealing with passive silence.In order to alleviate the problem of passive silence in class,we should improve students’ English level and oral expression ability,create a relaxed class atmosphere,stimulate students’ learning motivation,optimize class questioning skills and adopt correct coping methods. |
