André Jolivet is a bold and innovative musician in France in the 20 th century. His works are deeply influenced by atonal music. He is good at creating with novel timbre and unique harmony. He composed two Trumpet Concertos for trumpet(1948,1954),among which the Trumpet Concerto for trumpet, piano and string music in 1948 is one of his representative works. This work is a single movement concerto, which is composed of introduction, theme and five paragraphs. Each part and paragraph has unique musical personality characteristics, which are independent of each other but closely combined. The song contains almost all the trumpet playing techniques, from the traditional "double tonguing","treble tonguing",combined tonguing to the commonly used "flutter tonguing" of jazz trumpet. There are three paragraphs in the repertoire that use the trumpet mutes to enrich the trumpet timbre in the repertoire. This song requires trumpet players to master a variety of trumpet playing techniques, with clean and flexible fingering, wide range and strong endurance. At the same time, they should have high music appreciation, and be able to quickly convert and grasp the style characteristics of different paragraphs. It is precisely because it is difficult to play, this track is often used as one of the designated tracks of trumpet competitions at home and abroad, and it is also one of the classic tracks that many trumpet players need to learn and master.Starting from the composer’s life and the era background of composition, this paper studies the rich performance techniques of this song, and makes an in-depth study on the style characteristics and performance difficulties of this classic Trumpet Concerto by jolivey in order to improve the trumpet performance skills and explore more effective learning and training methods. This paper consists of three chapters: the first chapter is a brief introduction and overview of the composer and the creative background of Trumpet Concerto; The second chapter analyzes the three parts of the introduction, theme and expansion of the music from four angles: musical form structure, rhythm characteristics, style characteristics and performance speed; The third chapter is the specific analysis of trumpet playing techniques from the four parts of the influence of spitting, flower tongue and microphone on performance,as well as the key and difficult points of performance, and combines their own learning and playing experience to combine the playing techniques with the music style.
