Throughout the history of art,there are a large number of artistic works with female bodies as creative symbols,such as painting,sculpture,photography,ceramic art and so on,appearing in various media and art forms.After the 1960 s,the female body was especially directly used as a symbol by feminist art as a means to challenge the patriarchal society and declare the equality between men and women.However,the use of the symbol of female body seems to make part of the relevant works of art into a "naked","pornography" shackles.This paper will classify and interpret the forms and meanings of artistic works with female bodies as symbols through examples.The imago,metaphorical and non-pornographic expression methods are drawn from the above,which provide inspiration and experience for this paper to explore the creation of ceramic vessels with female bodies as symbols.This article implies that the social and historical nature of the female body should be removed,and the original and authentic female body should be taken as the starting point of creation,centering on the collision between the female body as a symbol and the soil.It is a divergent exploration of combining clay,shape and surface treatment of ceramics with female body as a direct expression or decorative symbol.Interpretation of the meaning of women’s special body parts,in order to remove the erotic and vulgar stereotypes suffered by women’s bodies,to express women’s bodies in a positive but non-stimulating way.This paper is the reflection and creation of "returning to the female body itself",and combines the obtained formal language into personal ceramic ware creation practice,so as to explore more possibilities of ceramic art creation theory and practice with female body as the symbol.As a container capable of carrying things,ceramic vessels can carry and hold life just like the female body.This thesis combines the female body with ceramic vessels to create,trying to express the female body in a more metaphorical and implicit way.In the form of ceramic vessels,the maternal power of the female body is conveyed,and the toughness of ceramic materials is used to convey the female character is not weak,endowing the female body and ceramic vessels with new meanings and forms.
