Study On The Patterns And Techniques Of Shang Dynasty Pottery In Henan Province

The Shang Dynasty was a period of prosperity of bronze civilization.In the early Shang Dynasty,bronzes began to be produced on a large scale and quickly penetrated into political and social life.Due to the need to use clay mold in bronze casting,fine pottery also developed rapidly driven by bronze casting in the same period.Henan is the main area where ancient civilization began and grew.The research on the patterns of Shang Dynasty pottery unearthed in Henan will help us better understand the context of the growth of civilization in the Central Plains.The pottery patterns of Shang Dynasty in Henan mainly include geometric patterns and animal patterns.Among them,animal patterns are deeply influenced by bronze patterns.The Taotie patterns and Kui patterns engraved on pottery give people a "ferocious beauty".These decorations not only reflected the majesty and power of the social rulers at that time,but also showed us the rich imagination of the craftsmen of the Shang Dynasty.Starting from the perspective of ceramic practitioners,based on archaeological materials,combined with literature and relevant professional research conclusions,and on the basis of learning the achievements of the past and self creation practice,this paper makes a systematic analysis and Research on the background,regional distribution,graphic style,decoration techniques and other problems of the patterns on the Shang Dynasty pottery unearthed in Henan Province.Due to the important position of Shang Dynasty pottery decoration in Henan Province in the history of Chinese ceramics and decoration,in-depth study and clarification of Shang Dynasty pottery decoration technology and its cultural connotation in Henan Province still has important energy value for today’s Ceramic Creation.
