In the context of the rapid development of the new media era,the way of information transmission is constantly changing,resulting in many new popular science devices,such as VR and AR.Since 2006,when the state attached importance to science popularization,science and technology education,dissemination and popularization work has been carried out extensively and deeply,and citizens’ scientific literacy has been paid more and more attention.In the Outline of action Plan for Scientific Literacy of the Whole People(2021-2035)issued by The State Council,it is clearly stated that the creation and dissemination of high-quality popular science content resources should be enhanced,excellent original popular science works should be supported,and excellent works should be developed and publicized.Popularization of science is an indispensable part of social development,which promotes the development of productive forces.There is no doubt that the popularization of science can transform and popularize scientific research.However,with the rapid development of science and technology,the development of any country,nation and region must depend on the development of science and technology.It can even be said that the popularization of science and technology can determine the level of its development to a large extent.At present,both at home and abroad,science and technology are included in the category of examining whether this country has the ability to create,and its importance is self-evident.However,compared with the developed countries,there is still a gap in the scientific quality of Chinese citizens,and it is necessary to strengthen the cultivation and improvement of citizens’ scientific quality.The application and popularization of science popularization devices can help the development of science popularization in China.However,the unattractive and boring existing science popularization devices lead to less information transfer in the process of science popularization,which cannot meet the needs of people at the present stage of science popularization.The addition of AR technology can change this status quo well.And popular science has already become an indispensable standard in international competition.After the Chinese government promulgates the planning outline,it is the responsibility of digital media art students to make high-quality AR popular science devices to better promote the development of popular science in China.The AR model reference map of this study is the 1853 Mapping map of Beijing central Axis,which is derived from Zaokong Science History website.The three-dimensional representation of the map can enrich the historical records of the development of China’s central axis and play an important role in promoting the development of ancient surveying and mapping technology.
