Chinese civilization,a thousand years.Dunhuang art brings together the culture of the Central Plains,Buddhism,West Asia and Central Asia,blending and colliding with each other,it is a dazzling pearl in the treasures of Chinese culture,and an important force to promote Chinese culture to the world.In the process of continuous development,the mural art of Mogao Caves has formed a unique form of artistic expression."Pingqi" is an early decorative pattern of the Dunhuang Grottoes,and is a particularly important decorative pattern on the Dunhuang murals.The pattern consists of flying sky,lotus flower,honeysuckle pattern,geometric pattern,etc.,and gradually evolved into a moi pattern.In the collection of relevant studies on the pattern of pingqi,it is found that there is only a few literature on the study of the pattern of pingqi,and most of them discuss and study its artistic characteristics and functional changes.The author takes the Dunhuang mural Pingqi pattern of the Northern Wei Dynasty as the research object,uses the field investigation method,the literature induction method,the questionnaire method and other methods to conduct research,analyzes the pattern characteristics,composition form and color characteristics of the Pingqi pattern,and combines the modern design makeup brand to carry out innovative application research,providing an example for the connection between traditional culture and modern design,making traditional culture more integrated into life,and making Dunhuang culture more unique.
