| As an image text with both authenticity and artistry,documentary is an effective carrier of national external communication.It shows the unique charm of China to the world through real and vivid scenes and infectious audio-visual language.The overall performance of documentaries in the international market needs to be strengthened,showing the problem of insufficient narrative ability.How documentaries improve the narrative ability of Chinese stories deserves attention.This paper attempts to make a narrative analysis of Chinese documentaries that have won international communication awards in professional documentary selection activities,and explore their narrative characteristics and how to realize cross-cultural communication through narration,in order to make a more specific and detailed analysis of the cross-cultural narrative characteristics of Chinese Documentaries,It provides a certain reference for the improvement and improvement of China’s documentary in the practice of foreign communication in the future.,With the help of content analysis and text analysis,this paper selects a total of 102 Chinese documentaries that have won international communication awards since the selection of China(Guangzhou)International Documentary Festival,documentary Academy Award,excellent domestic documentary and creative talent support project and China News Award,and analyzes them from the perspective of narrative story and narrative discourse.This paper holds that at the narrative story level,the narrative theme of the award-winning documentary can be summarized into three levels: ancient civilization and modern power,the reform and change of Chinese society and vivid and diverse Chinese faces;In the choice of narrator,the public narrator is the main one,and the hidden one is the supplementary one;In the narrative structure,the step-by-step structure is mainly used to reduce the understanding threshold of the audience,and the plate structure,loop nested structure and travel notes structure enhance the storytelling of the content.At the level of narrative discourse,from the perspective of narrative,award-winning documentaries flexibly use various perspectives,and the narrative from a single perspective is gradually declining;In terms of audio-visual language,the visual combination of "follow-up lens + material lens + interview lens" and the sound combination of "simultaneous sound + theme soundtrack + third person interpretation" constitute the common audio-visual language combination mode of award-winning documentaries.From a cross-cultural perspective,the award-winning documentary is transmitted through human shared values in narrative;With the help of the "other" perspective to shape the "self" and integrate Chinese and foreign cultural symbols,we can shorten the psychological distance of overseas audiences. |
