Since ancient times, human beings have attached great importance to the taste of food.Taste words record the rich and diverse taste sensations of human beings in their unique way,and at the same time carry the unique history and culture of different peoples. As a necessary means and tool for understanding oneself and the world around, metaphor is not only a linguistic term, but also an important way of thinking. In this paper,we use a corpus to compare the metaphorical patterns of basic Chinese and Russian taste words based on a metaphorical perspective, and analyze the differences from a cultural perspective.Since taste words are closely related to our lives,it is important to learn not only the original meaning of the words but also the metaphorical usage of different national taste words and the cultural origins of their differences in order to truly improve language skills. This paper is divided into five chapters: Chapter 1 is the introduction, which explains the background of the topic and the purpose and significance of the study, the current status of domestic and international research, the research method, and the scope of the corpus. The second chapter defines the object of this paper, the basic Chinese-Russian taste words: "sour/кислый,sweet/сладкий,bitter/горький,spicy/острый,salty/солёный",and then defines Lakoff and Lakoff & Johnson’s conceptual metaphor theory, the relationship between metaphor and culture are outlined to provide the basis for the following Chinese-Russian taste words description, comparison and difference interpretation.Chapter 3 extracts a typical corpus of Chinese-Russian basic taste words based on the corpus, classifies them according to their metaphorical mapping domains, and compares the metaphorical patterns of the basic taste words of the two languages, analyzing their commonalities and individualities.Chapter 4 analyzes the reasons for the similarities and differences of Chinese-Russian basic taste word metaphors: the similarities are due to the similarities in material basis, physiological functions, and cognitive processes, and the specific reasons for the differences are regional environment, historical allusions, and socio-cultural factors.Chapter 5 further examines the bias of basic gustatory word metaphor-related vocabulary in the corpus and analyzes the types and causes of bias in gustatory word acquisition among native Russian-speaking international students. Finally, based on the above, corresponding suggestions for teaching gustatory words are proposed.
