Verbs play an important role in every language.The vocabulary,semantics,syntax and pragmatics of verbs are related to all aspects of language.In modern Chinese and modern Russian(hereinafter referred to as Chinese and Russian),Chinese "listen" and Russian "слушать" belong to the basic vocabulary in their respective language systems,which occupy a very important position in their respective language systems and are frequently used in daily life.This paper will help us to understand the similarities and differences of Chinese and Russian auditory verbs through the comparison and analysis of Chinese "listen" and Russian "слушать".Generally speaking,due to the different cultural backgrounds,language types and people’s cognitive modes,the two languages have different forms of expression.This paper consists of introduction,three chapters and conclusion.The first chapter is the introduction,which mainly describes the research object,the theoretical basis,the purpose and significance of the research,the scope and methods of the research,as well as the domestic and foreign scholars’ research on sensory verbs.The summary of its domestic and foreign research includes the research results of Chinese scholars on sensory verbs,the research results of Russian scholars on sensory verbs,and the research results of Chinese Russian comparison and Chinese English comparison.The second chapter,from the semantic point of view,organically combines the cognitive theory and sememe analysis theory,analyzes the dictionary interpretation,basic meaning and extended meaning of "listen" in Chinese and Russian,and compares the commonness and individuality of "listen" in Chinese and Russian.The third chapter,from the syntactic point of view,investigates the main collocation structure and syntactic function of the Chinese "listen" and the Russian "слушать" syntax.At the end of the paper,the similarities and differences in syntax between the two languages are compared and analyzed.In the fourth chapter,from the perspective of metaphor mapping,the author makes a comparative analysis of the conceptual metaphor and metaphor mapping process of Chinese "listen" and Russian "слушать" in their respective language systems,and finally analyzes the reasons for the differences between Chinese and Russian metaphors by combining pictures and texts.The last part is the conclusion.This paper summarizes the research content of this paper,and points out the shortcomings of this research and the problems to be solved and deepened.
