| During the English teaching,the study of cognitive style and learning strategies has always been the important point of language learning research by scholars at home and abroad.However,there are still blank spaces in the research on the cognitive style and corresponding learning strategies of rural junior middle school students in China.In view of the research loss in this field,this article will select a rural middle school in China to study the cognitive style and learning strategies of students,to find out some suitable English learning strategies for rural middle school students,and provide reference for the teaching of other rural middle schools.Among the research process,this paper will use the questionnaire investigation,interview method,one the countryside junior middle school students in Xinxiang of Henan province as research object,the English teacher interviews as the object,adopts the combination of rural junior high school students’ final English achievements,use the cognitive style pattern test,English learning strategy questionnaire tools,such as rural junior middle school students in Grade 7 and Grade 9 students sampling survey.There are three research questions.1)What are the characteristics of rural junior middle school students in cognitive styles?2)What kind of English learning strategies are generally adopted by rural junior middle school students?3)What is the influence of cognitive styles on English learning strategy choices of rural junior high school students?Through this study,the use of cognitive style in the overall English learning of junior middle school students in rural areas is insufficient,the use of grade-9 students is more active than that of grade-7 students,but there is still a lot of room for improvement.It is concluded that with the growth of age,the cognitive style of rural junior middle school students is more independent,and learning strategies should be selected according to individual characteristics.Then,the use of English learning strategies of junior middle school students in rural areas is insufficient.Grade-9 students behave better in the using of English learning strategies.The affective and communicative strategy is used by most of the students.Rural junior high schools and teachers should strengthen the cultivation of students’cognitive style,so as to improve students’ English performance.Through this research,it can help rural middle school students in China to find appropriate ways to learn English,and promote the teachers of rural middle school in China to carry out more efficient English teaching,and provide a broader direction for the language learning research of scholars at home and abroad. |
