tell Chinese stories.The image of farmers has always been a key to opening the door to Chinese literature research.Studying the image of farmers in novels about poverty alleviation in the new era can not only better grasp the context of changes in the times,but also provide practical and feasible suggestions for literary creations related to local themes today,with the hope of producing more high-quality works.The first chapter classifies and sorts out the image of farmers in the novel of poverty alleviation in the new era,which is the basis for the paper to be launched and a necessary prerequisite for studying the evolution of the image lineage of farmers in literary history.Under the encouragement of policies in the new era,there have been new changes in the flow of farmers,and the identity characteristics of some farmers have changed.It is very difficult to define the image of farmers in the new era with an absolute concept.In this chapter,based on the main identity of farmers,the image of farmers is divided into three categories:the image of local impoverished farmers,the image of local rural cadres,and the image of rural entrepreneurs.Moreover,in general,the novel still uses the "dichotomy"method of image creation,dividing the image of farmers into positive and negative images.Positive images are the main force in poverty alleviation,while negative images no longer shape the image of farmers with the consciousness of criticism and enlightenment of Chinese intellectuals;Under this "level up" attitude,the author demonstrates the spiritual qualities of times,and the single narrative perspective hinders the exploration of farmers’inner emotional experiences;These issues are mainly constrained by multiple practical dilemmas-the complex multiple identities of farmers in the new era,the constraints of political themes,and the detachment of aesthetic construction from rural reality;Therefore,how to achieve the "breakthrough" in shaping the image of farmers has become a top priority.The main strategies include:using "new people-oriented" as the basic method,telling the story of China in the new era,shaping the image of farmers in the new era,and expanding the perspective of realism in the new era.Through a series of discussions,the problem of portraying farmers in poverty alleviation novels is clarified,and possible solutions are
