| Students’ classroom participation is the key to students’ good learning,which can measure whether students’ classroom learning is really happening.Only when students invest their behaviors and emotions into the classroom,can they internalize new knowledge into their own cognitive system.It is an important task for teachers to take students as the foundation and help pupils to give full play to their initiative in class so as to improve the quality of classroom teaching.This study is devoted to exploring the problems and causes of English class participation of senior students in primary schools,in order to improve the level of senior students’ English class participation and promote the development of students’abilities in various aspects.In this study,the literature on classroom participation of research students at home and abroad is searched,sorted out and summarized,and core concepts are defined.Taking the questionnaire designed by Professor Kong Qiping as the blueprint and combining with the students’ cognitive ability level,we prepared a suitable questionnaire for senior students of S Primary School.At the same time,10 students with different levels of English ability and teachers with senior English teaching experience in S Primary school were selected for interview,and combined with the classroom observation records of 12 English classes,the existing problems and reasons of senior students’ English class participation were analyzed.The main problems of English class participation of senior students in S primary school are as follows:students lack the awareness of active participation;Students participate in the classroom in a single way;Students participate in class at a superficial level;The scope the students’ participation in English class is small.Teaching is a joint activity between teachers and students,but the process of learning,understanding and applying knowledge should be completed by students.Therefore,students’ dominant position should be fully taken into account when implementing strategies to promote students’ participation in English classes.The strategies to promote students’ participation in English class are as follows:first,stimulate students’ internal English learning motivation,cultivate students’ good English learning habits,improve students’ cognitive level,and encourage students to "question"teachers in English class;Secondly,flexibly arrange teaching activities,design corresponding teaching activities according to students’ ability level,create English situations,use group cooperation to drive students’ learning at different levels;Third,focus on the class predetermination,promote the participation of classroom education,implement the class cadre rotation system,pay attention to the "marginal people" in English class. |
