The L Anguage Of Woodblock Prints-knife Marks

As the soul of woodcut,knife mark has its unique aesthetic feeling in form,and it is also relatively independent in expression.The artist’s treatment of different knife marks and his unique personal accomplishment will make the picture have ever-changing visual effects.In this paper,the manifestations of knife marks are summarized through examples,and how to adjust the color relationship of the screen by juxtaposition,superposition and arrangement of knife marks,how to improve the visual effect of the screen by using knife marks,and how to express the main texture are interpreted.Combined with the problems encountered in creation,the important role of knife marks is summarized,sorted out and analyzed,so that more people can understand the artistic charm of woodcut knife marks.
