The teaching process of Production-oriented Approach(POA)includes three steps:Motivating,Enabling and Assessing.Among them,the Motivating,as the pioneer link,its function is to stimulate students’ learning desire,so as to better invest in the Enabling.Because of its unique function,the selection of driving materials is very important.POA Chinese textbook driving materials are mainly presented in the form of video.Does the content of the driving videos in the textbook meet the requirements of the teaching method?Can it play its due function in teaching?The content of driving video needs to be improved from what aspects?What aspects should be paid attention to when we use the driving videos?These are the focus of this article.Text analysis method is adopted in this paper.With the help of THULAC(THU Lexical Analyzer for Chinese)word segmentation platform,the readability measurement tool AntWordProfiler,the evaluation tool International Chinese Textbook Preparation Guide(www.cltguides.com),this paper carefully analyze and evaluate the writing quality of the driving video content in the POA spoken Chinese textbook New Era Spoken Chinese Series(Elementary ·Ⅱ).The specific evaluation includes the following dimensions:1.Analysis of the content text of the driving videos(Communicative authenticity,Cognitive challenge,Appropriateness of output objectives);2.The correlation analysis between the video content and the text content(Topic correlation,Content difficulty,Logical similarity).The results show that in the index analysis of communicative authenticity,cognitive challenge and appropriateness of output goal,the compilation of textbook driven video content is in line with the requirements.On the correlation analysis between driving video content and facilitating part of content,we find that the difficulty of driving video content is less than that of facilitating part of content,and the topic coverage is narrower than that of facilitating part of content.In addition,we also find that these two parts are closely related to the topic,the occurrence of new words,the occurrence of important ideas and the logical structure.On this basis,this paper also adopts the survey analysis method to conduct one-toone interview on the students and teachers who use this textbook,and carries out detailed statistics and analysis on the survey results.The results show that from the perspective of students’ and teachers’ experience,the compilation of the video content driven by the textbook is reasonable in terms of topic,content,words,logic and so on.In terms of the function of driving video content,this textbook has given certain help to students’ learning and expression in different aspects and to different degrees.At the same time,based on the analysis of the survey results,we find that the compilation of textbook driven video content can be improved from the following aspects:1.Add new knowledge presentation;2.Enrich specific communication scenes;Teachers should try their best to improve the teaching effects when they use the driving videos in the following aspects:1.Understand the principle of video deeply;2.Innovative use of video content;3.Arrange students into groups reasonably.
