Critical thinking is not only the requirement for the country to cultivate innovative talents,but also the effective weapon for individuals to maintain the habit of independent thinking in the network information society.As one of the important components of critical thinking,critical thinking disposition not only regulates the overall critical thinking,but also is the key to the implementation of the core literacy and moral cultivation.However,some studies have shown that research on critical thinking disposition,especially in the high school disciplinary integration aspect,has little exploration.Based on the above considerations,the author takes English as an example to investigate the current situation of high school students’ English critical thinking disposition,and carries out a specific analysis of the survey results.First of all,based on The National English Curriculum Standards of Senior High School(2017 Edition,2020 revision),English project-based learning and other materials,the author determines the analytical framework of high school students’ English critical thinking disposition,which is composed of seven dimensions: confidence,inquisitiveness,cognitive maturity,systematic ability,analytical ability,open-mindedness and truth-seeking.Then the theoretical value of cultivating English critical thinking disposition was elaborated clearly.In order to understand the current situation and influencing factors of high school students’ English critical thinking disposition,questionnaire and interview methods were used to investigate English teachers and students in Q1 and Q2 cities.Through investigation and analysis,there are two problems in high school students’ English critical thinking disposition: first,the overall level of high school students’ English critical thinking disposition needs to be improved;Second,high school students’ English critical thinking disposition is unbalanced.In-depth analysis of the reasons,including the following aspects: first,curriculum reasons,including simplified curriculum objectives,decontextualized reading materials,mechanized curriculum implementation and one-sided curriculum evaluation;Second,teachers’ reasons,including the weak critical thinking quality,the obstacle of traditional educational ideas and the single teaching methods;Third,student reasons,including the lack of critical thinking and critical thinking disposition reserve knowledge,the lack of good learning habits,the lack of social experience and low English language level.Finally,based on the above problems and reasons,the author proposes the following countermeasures for high school students’ English critical thinking disposition: At the curriculum level,promote the cultivation of English critical thinking disposition from four aspects: objective,content,implementation and evaluation.At the level of teachers,take the lead to improve their own critical thinking and critical thinking disposition;change traditional idea of education;enrich and innovate teaching methods.At the student level,enrich the theoretical knowledge reserve of critical thinking and critical thinking disposition;develop new habits of English thinking and reading;make more friends and establish harmonious social relations;improve English language level.
