Language teaching cannot be separated from cultural teaching.Regional culture is an important component of Chinese culture.Regional culture is the first culture that foreign students come to China to learn.Setting up specialized regional culture courses can help foreign students alleviate cultural shock,better integrate into local life,and also help improve their interest in learning Chinese and improve their Chinese proficiency.Although more and more researchers are beginning to pay attention to the importance of integrating regional culture into teaching Chinese as a foreign language,the current research results are relatively few,and there is less content to integrate Lanzhou regional culture into teaching Chinese as a foreign language.Therefore,this topic still has research value.Lanzhou,formerly known as Jincheng,is a necessary place for the ancient Silk Road,with a unique geographical location,a long history,and rich cultural resources.This article takes Lanzhou regional culture as the main research content,and uses literature review,questionnaire survey,interview,and experiential teaching methods as the main research methods.It investigates the attitudes and perspectives of teachers and foreign students in major universities and colleges in Lanzhou on the teaching of Lanzhou regional culture.On this basis,it carries out teaching design and practice,and finally puts forward suggestions on integrating Lanzhou regional culture into teaching Chinese as a foreign language based on teaching feedback.This article is divided into five parts:The first part mainly includes research background,research status,research content,research methods,etc.The second part summarizes and classifies Lanzhou’s regional cultural resources,elaborates and analyzes them from various aspects,and attempts to organically integrate Lanzhou’s regional culture with teaching Chinese as a foreign language.In the third part,through interviews with teachers,I learned about the specific situation of current cultural teaching in Lanzhou universities and regional culture teaching in Lanzhou,and found that in current cultural teaching,there are problems such as less content of Lanzhou regional culture,low attention paid to Lanzhou regional culture teaching,and lack of targeted courses.Through a questionnaire survey of foreign students in Lanzhou,we have learned about the real needs of foreign students for learning Lanzhou regional culture,and found that foreign students have a strong desire to learn Lanzhou regional culture.The fourth part analyzes the characteristics of the experiential teaching method,and carries out according to its characteristics.Based on the survey results of the questionnaire,with Lanzhou food culture as the main topic,it attempts to design two experiential teaching plans for regional culture,and carries out teaching practice.Interview international students again to obtain teaching feedback on experiential teaching of regional culture.The fifth part proposes suggestions for regional culture teaching for international students in Lanzhou from five aspects: conducting preliminary research,improving the curriculum system of regional culture,offering live teaching of regional culture,writing specialized Chinese language textbooks for regional culture,and increasing training for teachers on regional culture content;Suggestions are put forward for using experiential teaching methods in regional culture teaching from four aspects: flexible use of textbooks,good classroom design,leveraging the guidance role of teachers,and actively organizing extracurricular practical activities.The aim is to bring new ideas for cultural teaching to frontline international Chinese teachers in Lanzhou universities.
