| With the development of society and science and technology,people gradually realize the importance of environmental protection and social coordinated development.As a scientific and technological text,the environment impact assessment report is characterized by strong interdisciplinary expertise and abundant analytical data,which provides a reference value for social development and environmental protection.Academic circles are paying increasing attention to the scientific and technological text of the environment impact assessment report.This translation project is a report on the social environmental health impact assessment of road construction in Sierra Leone.It mainly analyzes the feasibility and assessment of the social and environmental impact on the areas along the road after the construction.This report explores the process of comprehension,reflection,and verification in translation from the perspective of vocabulary,sentences,and text through case studies.The author conducts translation under the guidance of functional translation theory.This report summarizes the translation strategies of words and sentences in translation practice,that is,to ensure the accuracy of the information in the source text through the shift of part of speech,the extension of original meaning,the adjustment of word order,voice conversion and the addition and deletion of synonym statement.Based on the translation practice of Introduction and the first chapter of Environmental,Social and Health Impact Assessment for the Feasibility Study and Detailed Design of MAKAKURA-YIFIN-ALIKALIA-SUMBALIA-MASINGBI ROAD in Sierra Leone,this report analyzes and summarizes the linguistic features and translation of scientific and technological texts.Besides,it also pays attention to the unity of word selection,the preciseness of language,and the readability of the translation,hoping to provide a reference for the translation of the scientific and technological texts of the environmental assessment report. |
