A Practice Report On The Chinese Translation Of The Excerpts(Chapter 8-Chapter 9)of Shipbuilding Management

With the continuous development of China’s shipbuilding industry,shipbuilding management has increasingly shown its importance.Shipbuilding is a systematic and wide-ranging large-scale project engineering.Only by adopting advanced management models can we effectively improve the quality of shipbuilding.Learning foreign professional shipbuilding management knowledge is closely related to improving domestic shipbuilding technology.This report is based on the translation of Chapters 8 and 9 of Shipbuilding Management.Shipbuilding Management belongs to the professional EST text,with chapters 8and 9 heavily using nominalization structure,passive voice,and implicit logical relation.Based on the above characteristics,this report uses the conversion method at the lexical level to translate nominalization structure into Chinese,mainly including: dynamic static transformation,virtual reality transformation,and structural transformation;The main analysis content at the syntactic level is the translation method of passive voice,which uses the adaptation method to translate passive sentences into Chinese active sentences that keep the original subject unchanged,Chinese active sentences that change the original subject to object,Chinese non-subject sentences,Chinese marked passive sentences,and Chinese unmarked passive sentences;At the textual level,the implicit logical relation in the source text is dealt with by means of the amplification method from two aspects,namely,the explicit logical relationship and the explicit logic semantics.Research has found that conversion method,adaptation method and amplification method can make the translation of a text concise,accurate,coherent,and clear.It is expected that this report can provide reference for the translation of similar texts,and has certain reference significance and practical value for promoting the exchange of knowledge in the domain knowledge of shipbuilding and developing domestic shipbuilding technology.It is expected that this report can provide reference for the translation of similar texts,and has certain reference significance and practical value for promoting the exchange of knowledge in the domain of shipbuilding and developing domestic shipbuilding technology.
