Duan Zhijia’s Novel Chinese Translation Research

Long Renqing is a Tibetan-Chinese bilingual translator who has been devoted to Tibetan-Chinese translation work all the time.In 2020,he won the translation award in the 12 th National Minority Literary Creation Horse Award hosted by the Chinese Writers Association and the State Ethnic Affairs Commission.This paper takes Long Renqing’s Chinese translation of Duan Zhijia’s novels as the research object,studies the translator,his translation strategies and translation characteristics,and attempts to make a comprehensive comment on his translation through literary translation criticism theory.Establishing the important position of Tibetan contemporary literature translation in the history of multi-ethnic cultural exchanges and integration.The thesis consists of four chapters.The first chapter mainly introduces the famous Tibetan writer Duan Zhijia and Long Renqing,and briefly describes their literary creations and translated texts.The second chapter mainly analyzes the translation strategies and its characteristics in the translated version.In the Long Renqing’s Chinese translation of Duan Zhijia’s novels,the use of foreignizing translation strategies is relatively high.This paper first analyzes the translations from domestication and foreignization translation strategies.Secondly,analyze the translated version according to the translation standard of "faithfulness,expressiveness and elegance",and summarize the characteristics.The third chapter attempts to comment on the Chinese translation of Duan Zhijia’s novels by Long Renqing through translation criticism theory.Not only highlights the translation use of general vocabulary and culturally loaded vocabulary in the translation,but also criticizes the translation of sentences composed of vocabulary,and pays special attention to the rhetorical translation method of metaphor and duality.The fourth chapter mainly introduces the inspiration of Long Renqing’s Chinese translation of Duan Zhijia’s novels on multi-ethnic literary exchanges,discusses some issues that need to be paid attention to in the Chinese translation of Tibetan novels,and discusses its value and significance.
