Analysis On The Translation Of Health Service Texts

Based on the medical text “The UK National Health Service’s Innovation”,the author intends to explore how to translate terms and sentences involving health care.Explicating the process of UK’s medical reform will help provide references for translation of medical texts.When translating such texts,the author finds that there are fewer references related to NHS innovation.Meanwhile,sentences and terms related to the text are complicated because they are often connected with medicine,health care,ethics and public’s attitudes towards this health innovation.In order to make the translation more acceptable and understandable,high-frequency keywords are identified with corpus tools and patterns of their translation are analyzed.Through the translation and comparison of several examples shown in Chapter 3,the author hopes to provide some lessons and advice for further translation.
