| The interdisciplinary research of law and literature is still an emerging field in China with insufficient relevant translation references,which still need to be further enriched and improved.Being an interdisciplinary text of law and literature,the source text contains a large number of legal terms with the characteristics of the times and regions,and expressions with legal and literary background knowledge,which cause many cultural defaults.Therefore,by balancing different language styles in interdisciplinary texts,this report attempts to compensate for cultural defaults in legal literary translation to make the target text more acceptable to readers and provide solutions for the research of legal literary translation.Firstly,to equivalently convey the text information to the readers,this report makes cultural compensation by 5 methods including annotation,omission,paraphrase,amplification as well as imitation,and through various forms such as pictures and tables creatively.Secondly,to address the relationship between law and literature,it distinguishes the language styles of the source text in 3 steps including analyzing keywords,considering context,and understanding writing purpose.Finally,according to the features of different language styles,this report concludes with how to use the above translation strategies flexibly to compensate for cultural defaults. |
