| Vocabulary is to language what material is to building,so vocabulary plays an important role in language learning.Many Chinese teachers have also been trying to apply various teaching methods to the vocabulary teaching of Chinese as a second language in order to improve the Chinese level of second language learners.Chunk Theory provides new ideas for vocabulary teaching in Chinese as a second language.With a large number of chunks existing in daily language,its application value is self-evident.If the chunks in the language can be sorted out and applied to vocabulary teaching,it can reduce the huge psychological pressure and memory burden caused by language input on learners to a certain extent,and improve the timeliness and accuracy of language output at the same time.Based on this,the author draws lessons from Chunk Theory and relevant research results,and takes the textbook HSK standard course 5 for an example to carry out the application of chunks-based teaching method in vocabulary teaching.The article consists of six parts.The first part is to introduce the reason for choosing this topic,the summary of chunks research in China and abroad,difficulties,ideas,methods and innovations on the research.The first chapter classifies Chinese chunks from the perspective of teaching practice based on the current research results of chunks-based teaching in China and abroad,elaborates the effects of this teaching method from the teaching and learning,and puts forward the specific teaching principles.The second chapter statistically analyzes the chunks in the textbook HSK standard course 5.Based on guiding books,representative dictionaries and the opinions of Chinese teachers,the important chunks are selected and expanded.The third chapter introduces the specific cases of the application of this new teaching method in terms of teaching design,teaching steps and teaching method,and investigates the effect of Chinese chunks on language learning and existing problems through vocabulary test and student interview.The fourth chapter puts forward some suggestions from teachers’ teaching and students’ learning on the basis of reflection on the actual application of this method.The last part is the conclusion,which expounds the main results of this research and points out the shortcomings and the problems to be further studied in the future. |
