In the 1920 s,faced with the social reality of internal turmoil and foreign invasion,the Communist Party of China,guided by Marxism,tried hard to rebuild the social and political structure of China.The CPC brought a new world view and value system into China,and tried to convey new ideas to the masses and awaken them.As the media between the CPC and the masses,the popular press bears the responsibility of awaking the people.The CPC combines the activities of running newspapers with the propaganda of the revolution,closely linked with the real politics,and effectively brings new ideas to the people to cooperate with the political activities.This research takes based on the popular newspapers founded by the CPC from 1920 to1927,focusing on the analysis of process,strategy and mechanism of the early CPC’s use of popular newspapers to mobilize the masses for the revolution.The thesis consists of three parts: comprehensive research,special research and conclusion.On the basis of grasping the historical background and development of the popular press in the early period of the CPC,this paper analyzes the issue change,expression strategy and communication mechanism of the popular press,and discusses the unique functions and functions of the popular press in the mass mobilization.The first part is a comprehensive study.The first chapter introduces the establishment of popular newspapers in the early period of the CPC in the context of social enlightenment in the early 20 th century.This chapter summarizes the early popular newspapers of the CPC into three categories: workers,farmers and women citizens,and introduces the representative important journals and main editors.The second part is a Thematic study.The second chapter reflects the change of the target situation of the CPC’s mass mobilization through the content of popular newspapers and periodicals.The columns,layouts and contents of the early popular newspapers of the CPC mainly served the revolutionary movement.With the change of the social situation,the content of popular newspapers has gradually changed from the inspiration of the subject consciousness of the workers to the revolutionary mobilization of the national revolutionary movement.The third chapter discusses the folk expression strategy of the early popular newspapers of the CPC.In the process of propagating the revolution,the CPC use songs,speeches,pictures,slogans and other cultural symbols to incorporate the party’s political ideas and revolutionary propaganda for closing the distance with the masses.The fourth chapter analyzes the CPC’s mass mobilization mechanism linked by popular newspapers.The CPC guides the distribution and promotion of popular newspapers,and sets up cram schools,workers’ clubs and newspaper reading groups,so as to go deep into the lives of the masses and mobilize them to participate in the revolution.The third part is the conclusion.It is found that the popular newspapers in the early period of the CPC inherited the development of the early social Enlightenment movement,and presented a new look and characteristics.The CPC brought the radical political thought into the activities of popular newspapers,and linked the people with popular newspapers.In the early period of the CPC,popular newspapers carried out political persuasion in the art form popular to the masses,which showed the characteristics of folk communication strategy and organizational action mechanism.It aroused the masses’ class consciousness and revolutionary consciousness,and mobilized the masses to participate in the revolution.It provided useful experience for mass mobilization in the period of revolutionary base areas.
