| In order to adapt to the world educational reform and strengthen the international competitiveness of China’s education.The English key competences were come up in the English Curriculum Standards for senior high schools(2017 Edition,2020 Revision).The English Curriculum Standards for Ordinary Senior High Schools(2017 edition,2020 Revision)indicates that as a learning and using language,the final goal of English is to foster students’ language abilities,cultural awarenesses,thinking qualities and learning abilities.Cultural awareness is the value orientation of the English key competences as one of the four core qualities of English,The cultivation of cultural awareness is the value embodiment of the quality of English and the enhancement of cultural awareness is the guarantee of proper use of language.In addition,it is also extremely conducive to other three core qualities in other words,the cultivation of language ability,thinking quality and learning ability.On the basis of the relationship between language and culture,constructivism learning theory and the Sapir-Whorf hypothesis,to achieve the cultivation of the core quality of English and educational goal of the improvement of cultural awareness,This paper takes students and teachers in Taihe yizhong in Anhui province as research objects and carries out the research to analyze the current situation of the cultivation of cultural awareness in English reading teaching in senior high school.This paper focuses on the following two issues: 1)What is teacher’s understanding about the cultivation of cultural awareness in English teaching in senior high school from the core quality of subjects? 2)What is teacher’s strategy about how English teachers perceive and implement the cultivation of students’ core qualities and cultural awareness in English reading teaching in senior high school?This research uses teachers and students as objects.Firstly,give 60 teachers and200 students questionnaires and my two classes of 100 students test paper to test their to know the basic situation of the use of culture in English reading teaching in our school.After,class 23 is the control class,which adopts the traditional teaching method that focuses on language knowledge and language skills.The class 25 is experimental class,using new teaching activities of cultural awareness cultivation.After,the test paper and interview method to analyze the current reading teaching.The results shows that compared with the control class,the average grade of students in the experimental class has been improved importantly.The English reading teaching practice of the cultivation of cultural awareness under the core accomplishment goal has a positive effect on students’ English reading and help to improve English reading performance.There are also some limitations in the research that need to be studied further in the future,especially about the crucial relationship between cultural awareness and reading ability. |
