| As one of the core competences of English displine,culture awareness has been playing an important role in English teaching.The "English Curriculum Standards for Compulsory Education(2022 edition)" issued by the Ministry of Education in 2022 also emphasized the importance of cultural awareness in English learning.However,in junior high school’s English classes,culure awareness has not been paid enough attention,and there are still many problems in culture teaching.Therefore,in order to improve the current situation of being lack of culture awareness cultivation in English classes,and provide feasible strategies,so as to improve students’ culture awareness,this study took Chongqing “N” Middle School as a case and conducted a research among 30 English teachers and 300 students in this school to investigate the current situation of culture awareness cultivation in this school and its impact factors and proposed a series of solutions based on this.First of all,the author adopted questionnaires to investigate the culture awareness of 300 junior students to explore the effect of culture awareness cultivation in this school.And then the author conducted an investigation among 30 English teachers of this school throgh queationanaries to learn the causes of the current situation from the perspective of teachers.Then,the author interviewed the six English teachers of the classes participating in the questionnaire survey,so as to have a deeper and more comprehensive understanding of the factors infulencing culture awareness cultivation.At last,the author made an observation on the 6 teachers’ claesses to deeply invetigate the situation and problems of the culture awareness cultivation in actual English classes.Finally,the author analyzed causes based on the survey datas,and propoded corresponding solutions.The study found that,generally speaking,the students of this school have weak culture awareness and low culture literacy.The reasons for this mainly come from the aspects of teachers,schools,education departments and students themselves.Therefore,the author put forward the following suggestions: First,education management departments and schools should play a guiding role,and issue effective guidelines and policies to guide the direction and provide conditions for the cultivation of culture awareness.Secondly,as the guides of the classes,teachers should improve their own cultural literacy,enrich their teaching content and improve teaching methods.In addition,as the main part of learning,students need to pay more attention to the cultivation of culture awareness,actively learn about culture through various channels,and consciously improve their own cultural awareness. |
