A Study Of The Chinese Verb-direction Construction "V Chu Ge O Lai"

In order to explore the component properties and meaning of the construction and put forward suggestions for teaching Chinese as a foreign language,this paper,under the guidance of the construction grammar theory,studied the construction of “V chu ge O lai”through corpus analysis.Firstly,it is clear that the object of this paper is “V chu ge O lai”after splitting,and the appearance of “lai”only affects the pragmatic effect.It analyzes the syllable characteristics,semantic category and relationship between variable V and object O,as well as the function of providing information in construction.According to the classification of corpus,seven categories of variable O are sorted out.This paper focuses on the analysis of the construction meaning of “V chu ge O lai”,and concludes that “V chu ge O lai”has the meaning of “Result O appears because of person’s action V”,specifically including four points: the object is the result of action,reveal the facts implied by the object,“ge” weakens the emotional color,and the whole structure type has subjective orientation.Its grammatical functions are as predicate,object and attribute in a sentence.Its pragmatic function is to mark the information focus and enhance the conversational feel of written language.It is found that there are few cases of foreign students using the construction of “V chu ge O lai”,and it can only be judged that foreign students have the possibility to acquire this construction.Combining with the teaching needs of newspaper reading,and based on the analysis results of component and construction meaning,grammar and pragmatic function,two reasonable teaching suggestions are put forward.
