Research On The Application Of Narrative Perspective In Historical Literature Documentaries

The vast river of history is presented in the form of a documentary film,and history is given an artistic and authentic quality.These unique documentary presentations have made historical documentaries increasingly prominent in today’s society,and historical video narratives have received attention and attention from academics and industry alike.As a fundamental element in the art of narrative creation,the importance of narrative perspective cannot be underestimated.Different narrative perspectives provide the creator with different ways of composing,expressing and presenting the film.The creator chooses the narrative perspective according to the narrative situation,and tells the story and expresses the meaning from different dimensions,which has become an increasing trend in the creation of historical documentaries in recent years.Based on a review of existing literature and theories,this study analyses historical documentaries in three dimensions: omniscient,external and internal perspectives.The study first explores how the creator incorporates the three narrative perspectives into the creation of the work by shifting the narrator’s subject and observation position,and combining the three perspectives in dynamic events,with reference to specific historical events,presentation methods and the creator’s intention to express.Secondly,the work Before Dawn explores how the narrative perspectives are externalised in the film through an analysis of the pre-planning,selection and use of audio-visual language in historical documentaries.The study shows that the artistic expression of film and television in documentaries is the main way of externalising the narrative perspective in historical documentaries,through the selection of narrative objects,the use of audiovisual language and the design of post-production editing,the narrative perspective is made concrete from abstract concepts and integrated into the creation of the work,so that the events narrated can be presented more comprehensively through images.The use of narrative perspectives in historical documentaries has provided a way of thinking and a creative dimension to the narrative of historical images,not only allowing for an objective documentary representation of the reality of historical images,but also allowing for the presentation of the moral values of the documentary to be conveyed through the choice of different perspectives.With the change in the language of communication,the documentary no longer presents preachy ideas in a straightforward manner,and the comprehensive use of multiple narrative perspectives also allows the ideological content of historical documentaries to be subtly metaphorically conveyed to the audience in the plot scenes.
