| At the 19 th Party Congress, the Party Central Committee made the scientific assertion that socialism with Chinese characteristics has entered a new era and proposed the rural revitalization strategy;at the 20 th Party Congress Report,General Secretary Xi Jinping once again emphasized the need to comprehensively promote the implementation of rural revitalization.Meanwhile, the Decision of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China on Several Major Issues Concerning Adhering to and Improving the Socialist System with Chinese Characteristics and Advancing the Modernization of the State Governance System and Governance Capability(hereinafter referred to as the Decision),which was considered and adopted at the Fourth Plenary Session of the 19 th CPC Central Committee, proposed to promote the rural revitalization strategy and improve the institutionalized channels for mass participation in grassroots social governance.China is currently in the stage of rapid development of population aging and has initially entered an aging society,so it is especially important to build institutionalized channels for the elderly to participate in grass-roots social governance. In the context of rural revitalization,if the grassroots government can effectively guide the elderly to give full play to their own advantages to release their cultural values,it will have a positive impact on China’s response to population aging and the implementation of rural revitalization strategy. This paper takes advantage of the author’s long-term participation in rural revitalization and visits 11 administrative villages under the jurisdiction of the township, and finally selects three typical natural villages as long-term resident research subjects. The paper mainly uses the literature method, interview method and case study method, and takes advantage of the author’s long-term participation in rural revitalization to visit the 11 administrative villages under the jurisdiction of the township several times, and finally selects three typical natural villages as the long-term resident research subjects. Then,we will give targeted scientific and feasible countermeasure suggestions for these problems. The article firstly defines the core concepts of rural elderly, social participation of the elderly, multiple subjects and rural cultural revitalization.Secondly, based on the information collected from the interviews with the rural cadres, government staff and the elderly people, the main problems encountered by the elderly people in rural revitalization are identified and their causes are analyzed. Finally, based on the analysis of the problems and causes, countermeasures and suggestions to promote the participation of the elderly in rural cultural revitalization are proposed. The final results of this paper show that the main problems encountered by the elderly in participating in rural cultural revitalization in Xiyang Yi Township include the lack of the elderly’s own ability, the weak awareness of the elderly in participating in rural cultural revitalization, the gradual weakening of the elderly’s status, and the insufficient motivation of the elderly in participating in rural cultural revitalization. The reasons for these problems can be summarized as the slow acceptance and adaptation of the new situation by the elderly, the lack of awareness of cultural subjects among the elderly in rural cultural revitalization, the imperfect operation mechanism of rural cultural revitalization, and the insufficient promotion and guidance of the government for the elderly in rural cultural revitalization. In conclusion, this paper believes that the participation of the elderly in rural cultural revitalization needs to improve their ability to accept and adapt to the new situation, stimulate their consciousness to participate in rural cultural revitalization, improve the operational mechanism of rural cultural revitalization and strengthen the government’s promotion and guidance of the elderly in rural cultural revitalization,so as to effectively carry out the work of the elderly in rural cultural revitalization. |
