The Creative Practice Of Ordinary Life

The development of cities is long and complex,and the acceleration of urbanisation has provided residents with a convenient and comfortable environment as well as a source of material and inspiration for artists to create.Urban themes emerge from urban life,and through scenes of urban life map urban development and changes in life.Oil paintings of urban themes have attracted attention.In order to reflect the reality of society and urban development,artists have chosen urban themes as the subject of their paintings,reflecting the rapid development of the city and evoking its history and culture.The author presents the scenes he feels in the picture,recording and showing urban life,containing the atmosphere of urban life and expressing the most sincere emotions between people,with art originating from the most ordinary and common life.This project is intended to express the author’s unique attachment to and perception of the city he lives in through his own closely related urban life and his subtle immersion in it,and to find his own painting language and entry point from it.This article discusses urban oil painting in three parts.The first part defines the concept of oil painting on urban themes and its development;the second part discusses the creation of oil paintings on urban themes,which mainly focuses on several aspects of painting expressions such as composition,space,colour and texture,and carries out an in-depth study in conjunction with his own creations;the third part explains the author’s reflections based on his own practice of creating oil paintings on urban themes,and the release of emotions in the creation process.
