A Study On The Mobilization Of Public Opinion In Literature And Art Of The Anti-Japanese War

In 1937,Japanese imperialism deliberately provoked the Lugouqiao Incident and launched an all-out war of aggression against China.Saving the nation from subjugation and national liberation became the theme of China’s era.In the face of the flagrant attack of Japanese imperialism,the CPC proposed to establish an anti Japanese national united front and called on the whole country to fight against Japan with military and civilian unity.Against this background,the All-China Association of Literary and Artistic Circles Against the Enemy was established in 1938 and launched the official publication "Literature and Art in the War of Resistance",which used newspapers and periodicals to mobilize the whole country’s military and civilian unity to fight against Japan and save the nation,and actively carried out the work of public opinion mobilization in the war of resistance.The Anti-Japanese War Literature and Art held up a firm banner of literary and artistic anti-war,published a large number of reportage,novels and other popular literary and artistic works,fully exposed the atrocities of the Japanese invaders,reported and praised the heroic struggle of the military and civilian throughout the country in detail,stimulated the enthusiasm of the Chinese people in the anti-war,and played a positive role in mobilizing public opinion.This paper mainly takes the mobilization of public opinion in the Anti-Japanese War Literature and Art as the research object,and on the basis of sorting out and reading the original documents,carries out in-depth research on the relevant contents.The paper is mainly divided into four parts:The first chapter analyzes the background of the publication of Anti-Japanese War Literature and Art.First,introduce the establishment process of the All-China Association of Literary and Art Circles Against Enemies.The establishment of the "Literary and Art Association" marks the formal formation of the anti-Japanese national united front in the literary and art circles,and is the banner of unity and anti-Japanese in the literary and art circles;Second,introduce the founding process of the Anti-Japanese War Literature and Art,including its editing,publishing,distribution and other aspects,and trace back the background of its anti-Japanese war public opinion mobilization work.The second chapter mainly explains the content of public opinion mobilization in Anti-Japanese War Literature and Art.Through a detailed analysis of the text materials of the Anti-Japanese War Literature and Art,the content of public opinion mobilization can be roughly divided into five categories: first,to expose the brutal crimes of Japanese aggression and arouse the patriotic enthusiasm and national consciousness of the masses;Second,to reveal the miserable life of the Chinese people under the Japanese invasion and oppression,so as to inspire the people to rise up to resist and strengthen their determination to resist the war;Third,report the heroic deeds of the unity of the army and the people in all parts of the country in the course of the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression,unite with the enemy and fight bravely,praise the anti-Japanese heroes,play a typical exemplary role,and encourage the masses to actively participate in the anti-Japanese national salvation movement;Fourth,bitterly criticize the traitors’ despicable traitorous crimes,urge the masses to adhere to the consciousness of unity and resistance,and strengthen the national integrity;Fifth,we should guide the work of literature and art in the War of Resistance,so that the literature and art in the War of Resistance can play a better role in mobilizing the people to participate in the War of Resistance in a more effective way.The third chapter studies and summarizes the means of public opinion mobilization in the Anti-Japanese War Literature and Art.First,we should adopt the editorial policy of attaching equal importance to creation and criticism;Second,there are various genres of works,mainly reportage in the early stage and popular literary works in the later stage;Third,we should attach importance to the dynamic exchange of literature and art,and report on the activities of anti-war writers from various countries in support of China’s anti-war war;Fourth,combine positive publicity with negative criticism to effectively guide public opinion and mobilize the masses.The fourth chapter explains the historical role of the Anti-Japanese War Literature and Art in the mobilization of public opinion and its enlightenment to the current mobilization of public opinion.In the mobilization of public opinion in the war of resistance,the Anti Japanese Literature and Art not only led the correct public opinion in the war,stimulated the enthusiasm of the whole nation for the war of resistance,expanded the influence of the CPC,but also closely united patriotic writers who supported the war of resistance,adhered to the anti Japanese national united front in the literary and art circles,and played an indelible role in promoting the establishment of the anti Japanese national united front.His experience in public opinion mobilization is of great help to the public opinion mobilization work in the new era,which is worthy of in-depth study and full reference.To sum up,through a comprehensive analysis of the text content of the Anti-Japanese War Literature and Art,this paper explores how the Anti-Japanese War Literature and Art actively mobilized the masses to participate in the Anti-Japanese War by using the newspaper media.As the only national literature and art publication throughout the whole period of the Anti-Japanese War,Anti-Japanese Literature and Art embodies the spirit of unity in the literary and art circles,plays a major role in encouraging the masses and mobilizing the whole nation to resist the war,and has great research value in the history of China’s Anti-Japanese War.
