The report to the Party’s 20 th National Congress clearly put forward the strategy of "implementing the strategy of rejuvenating the country through science and education and strengthening support for human resources for modernization",stressing that education,science,technology and human resources will help build a modern socialist country in an all-round way.Academic achievement is a comprehensive reflection of individuals in the field of learning,and is often used as an evaluation index of education quality and talent quality,so it has certain research value.College students,as a generation of powerful countries,will gradually grow into the pillars of the future society,and their personal progress will eventually converge into the driving force of national progress.Therefore,it is necessary to explore the current situation of their academic achievement and the relevant influencing mechanism.In this study,literature method and questionnaire method were used as the basic research methods.The perceptive Social Support Scale(PSSS),Positive Psychological Capital questionnaire(PPQ),learning engagement scale and college students’ academic achievement scale were used to conduct a questionnaire survey on 601 randomly selected college students.The purpose of this study is to understand their social support,psychological capital,learning investment and academic achievement,explore the correlation between variables and analyze the internal mechanism affecting individual academic achievement,so as to provide a feasible reference scheme for the improvement of academic achievement of college students.The main findings are as follows:(1)The social support of college students is slightly higher than the average level,and there are significant differences in grade,place of origin,whether the only child or not,and whether the backbone of students.Psychological capital is slightly lower than the medium level,and there are significant differences in grades,places of origin,whether the only child or not,and whether the backbone of students.The learning commitment is slightly lower than the medium level,and there are significant differences in gender,major and whether students are backbone.Academic achievement is slightly lower than the average level,and there are significant differences in majors,places of origin and whether students are backbone.(2)College students’ social support,psychological capital,learning investment and academic achievement are significantly correlated.(3)College students’ social support,psychological capital and learning investment can positively predict their academic achievement.(4)Psychological capital and learning investment play a simple mediating role between social support and academic achievement of college students respectively.(5)Psychological capital and learning involvement play a chain mediating role between social support and academic achievement of college students.This study believes that social support can not only directly affect college students’ academic achievement,but also indirectly exert its effect through psychological capital and learning engagement.Therefore,in practice,we should fully grasp the positive effects of social support,psychological capital and learning input,and take into account the two important environmental factors of family and school as well as individual initiative,so as to comprehensively help college students achieve higher quality improvement in their academic achievements.
