Musical Characteristics Of “Chinese Style” Rhythm And Blues Song

Blues music is a significant branch of pop music,which has still affected the singing skills,orchestration,harmony structure and rhythm of many current music styles in terms of its music charm and culture.As one of the most representative styles under the blues music style,rhythm and blues among them based on blues began to become popular in cities in the 1940 s.The contemporary rhythm and blues as one of the mainstream music styles in the United States entered the Chinese music market in the 1980 s.Having also gradually established its foothold in Chinese music so far,the music style of rhythm and blues has blended with Chinese culture,which has brought out a large number of rhythm and blues songs with "Chinese style",been widely spread in the Chinese music circle and obtained certain achievements.This can indicate that it is worthy of learning "Chinese style" rhythm and blues songs and making continuous research on them.Therefore,many "Chinese style" blues are taken as the main research objects of this thesis.The detailed analysis and research are conducted in view of the melody characteristics,the used singing skills and the arrangement of the songs.Besides,the music spectral examples and relevant audio and video materials are combined to make the summary.Four chapters constitute the thesis for elaboration.In the first chapter,the overview of the development and concept of "Chinese style" rhythm blues is conducted.In the second chapter,three "Chinese style" rhythm and blues songs are taken as the research objects to make detailed analysis and study on the song arrangement,and then summarize the song arrangement characteristics.In the third chapter,three "Chinese style" rhythm and blues songs are taken as the research objects,the melody of the songs is taken as the starting point to firstly find out the representative melody fragments in the songs,then analyze and study them in detail,and finally summarize their features.In the fourth chapter,three "Chinese style" rhythm and blues songs are taken as the research objects,the singing skills of the songs are taken as the starting point to firstly analyze the singing skills used by the singers in the songs through audio materials,and then make the summary.
