| Schutz is one of the founders of phenomenal sociology,and the life-world is the central issue and the most influential part of his theoretical research.Schutz inherited and developed Husserl’s life-world theory,and absorbed Weber’s theory of the meaning of action and Bergson’s theory of stretches,forming a Schutzian life-world theory.The lifeworld has three basic characteristics: direct givenness,mutual subjectivity,and indeterminacy.The starting point of Schutz’s life-world theory comes from "action theory" and "inner time consciousness".Consciousness-driven subjective time and potential time,where action transforms phenomena into meaning through reactions in the stream of consciousness.Action in Schutz’s life-world theory is similar to practice in Marxist philosophy,where the distinction and depiction of action explains the direction of the life-world and the logical basis for its occurrence.On the one hand,Schutz’s life-world theory is an assimilation and fusion of various theories;on the other hand,the new theory On the one hand,Schutz’s life-world theory is an assimilation and integration of various theories;on the other hand,it solves theoretical problems,clarifies the conceptual problems of "action" and "behavior" and "meaning",and analyzes the structure of the concrete social world.This life-world theory was once very influential,but later scholars,while recognizing Schutz’s innovation,also criticized its shortcomings. |
