The Study On Bei Dao In The English Journal Modern Chinese Literature And Culture(1984-2019)

With the upsurge of China’s export of own culture,the study of contemporary Chinese literature in the English-speaking world,as an important research direction of overseas Sinology,has increasingly become an academic growth point of Chinese literature research at home and abroad.To a certain extent,the "research of research" is helpful to build a sharing window for the study of contemporary Chinese literature at home and abroad,and to build a non-differentiated and dialogue-oriented academic research field.The literature on Bei Dao in the journal Modern Chinese Literature and Culture provides a central foundation for the study of Bei Dao in the English-speaking world.Based on the research during the period from 1984 to 2019,28 papers(including 2monographs)on the studies of Bei Dao published by 26 scholars in Modern Chinese Literature and Culture,an English journal of Ohio University,are selected as the center of the research.In addition,the scholars’ other 9 research papers not published in the Modern Chinese Literature and Culture but collected in the Journal Storage are used as the supplementary materials.The thesis carries out the research contents of the three chapters in parallel with the "Language study","Image study" and "Exile Study" of Bei Dao.The first chapter analyzes the concerns of overseas scholars on the obscure and political nature of Bei Dao,and then draws the subversive and rheological characteristics of Bei Dao’s language research.The second chapter analyzes how overseas scholars study the imagery of Bei Dao’s works,and then draws the characteristics of publicity and individuality of Bei Dao’s imagery research.The third chapter analyzes how overseas scholars study the exile theme of Bei Dao’s works,and then draws out the characteristics of individual case and group attributes of Bei Dao’s exile research.Based on the completion of the study on Bei Dao in the in the Modern Chinese Literature and Culture,the paper further compares the similarities and differences between the studies on Bei Dao both at home and abroad,and intends to call the domestic scholars to look upon the study on Bei Dao in English-speaking world with a global perspective,finally gives new inspiration to the cross-cultural research,and enriches the research results of the overseas Chinese studies.
