A Study On The Image Of Filial Piety In The Tomb In Han Dynasty | | Posted on:2024-02-10 | Degree:Master | Type:Thesis | | Country:China | Candidate:Y Zhou | Full Text:PDF | | GTID:2555307082953069 | Subject:Archaeology | | Abstract/Summary: | PDF Full Text Request | | The Han Dynasty was the first era when the concept of "filial piety" was officially promoted.Filial piety was highly valued in the society of the Han Dynasty,and it naturally became one of the subjects of images.Tombs are the epitome of the style of an era,and the images in the tombs are also an important way to express the thoughts of the times.Contrary to the status of the concept of "filial piety" in the Han Dynasty,Han Dynasty tombs with images of filial piety only account for a small part of all Han Dynasty tombs with images,and they are only distributed in the southwest of Shandong Province,Leshan City of Sichuan Province,and the central and southern Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.The image of filial piety is a part of the tomb image,and the interpretation of its meaning is affected by the overall meaning of the space where it is located.This paper divides the images of filial piety in the tombs of the Han Dynasty into the images of filial piety in the ancestral hall above the tomb and the images of filial piety in the tomb for discussion.Based on combing literature and archaeological materials,combined with previous research results,this paper believes that the function of the ancestral hall on the tomb is to sacrifice.The core of the implication of the ancestral hall stone reliefs on the tomb is the visit map of the pavilions on the stone reliefs on the back wall facing the viewer.The picture of paying respect to the pavilion should be the scene where the owner of the tomb accepts the visit from relatives and friends from his descendants,not the scene of ascending to immortality.Therefore,the meaning of the image of filial piety in the ancestral hall on the tomb should be interpreted centered on the owner of the tomb.The story selection,image expression and title content of the images of filial piety in the Wuliang Temple reflect the thought of filial piety in the "Han Shi" ruled by Wu Liang.The story of Zhao Dunshe Shi Lingzhe in the front stone room and the left stone room of Wu’s Temple reflects the admiration of the nobles in the Eastern Han Dynasty to expand their influence,respect the corporals,and make friends.The story of Shen Sheng in the stone relief of Songshan Tomb No.1 reflects the society’s admiration for such extreme filial behavior in the Eastern Han Dynasty.The image of filial piety in the mural tomb of Helinger in the Eastern Han Dynasty is related to the identity of the tomb owner and his life experience.The combination of the image of filial piety with the images of the San Lao and Rengu reflects the grassroots order based on Confucian morality in the ideal of the tomb owner.The selection of Jin Midi’s story also reflects the local characteristics of the border area.The images of filial piety in Sichuan cliff tombs are relatively rare in Sichuan Han Dynasty tombs,and only three cliff tombs have images of filial piety.The shape and structure of these cliff tombs are all in the local style,but they use images of filial piety that have not been seen in other local tombs.While expressing the concept of the tomb owner,these images of filial piety also have a certain reference function.Compared with the biography of filial sons in later generations,the images of filial piety in the tombs of the Han Dynasty did not highlight the emotional color of the story of filial piety,but focused on showing those filial piety that surpassed ordinary people,which also reflected the view of filial piety of the tomb owner. | | Keywords/Search Tags: | Han Dynasty Tombs, Filial piety images, Picture stone, Tomb murals | PDF Full Text Request | Related items |
