In ancient Chinese,"will" was a multi-functional word.According to the Chinese dictionary,"will" had the functions of verb, preposition, auxiliary, adverb, adjective and conjunction, etc. It appeared frequently and had a wide range of applications. As a bridge to modern Chinese, modern Chinese has inherited the ancient Chinese tradition, but also shows a new and different outlook, and many grammatical phenomena matured and improved during this period."In modern Chinese, the verb, preposition, auxiliary and adverb functions were retained, but in modern Chinese, the verb was limited to fixed collocation, and the use of prepositions and adverbs was restricted by language style,so the functions of "will" have undergone changes in complexity and simplicity.Based on this, this paper selects the verbs, prepositions, auxiliaries, and adverbs "will" in "The First and Second Quarters"(together called "the Second Quarters")written by Ling Mengchu in the Ming Dynasty as the objects of investigation. On the basis of a detailed analysis of their syntactic forms, semantic features and grammatical functions, the paper reveals the reasons for the changes in the traditional and simplified forms of "Jiang",taking into account the comparison of the categorical text and the evolution of the text over time. This paper consists of five main parts. The first part is the introduction. The first part is the introduction, which introduces the research object, the current situation, the research method, the significance of the research and the sources of the corpus, laying the foundation for the subsequent discussion in the main part. The second part is based on the "Two Beats" corpus, and mainly describes the syntactic forms of the four types of "will" in the two books,so as to prepare for the following comparative study.Firstly, the lexical nature of "Jiang" is determined according to the grammatical function and semantic features of the syntactic form in which it is found, and then the syntactic structure, collocation objects and frequency of use of each type of "Jiang" are introduced. The syntactic structure, collocation and frequency of use of each type of "will" are then introduced, showing the grammatical aspects of the four types of "will" in the "second beat".The third part mainly describes the semantic features and syntactic functions of each type of"Jiang"in"二拍",and on this basis discusses how the source meaning and syntactic structure of the verb"Jiang"can be fictionalized into the other three types. The three categories are The verb"will"contains the meaning of"to hold","to lead"and"to recuperate"."will"includes the meaning of"hold","lead"and"recuperate",which are derived from the original meaning of"help";the adverb"will"has the meaning of"intend The adverb"will"has the meaning of"intend","will"and"nearly",and the derivation of these three meanings is arranged linearly, which realizes the process of converting the auxiliary verb into an adverb. The preposition"will"is divided into six categories according to the object of preference, namely, instrument of preference, action by virtue of,place, action object, disposition object, and application, while the auxiliary verb"will"is divided into six categories depending on whether the matching verb contains the[+displacement]factor The auxiliary"will"is divided into two categories:"displacement verb+will"and"non-displacement verb+will",and defines the grammatical function of the auxiliary"will"as indicating the continuation of the action behavior and nature. The fourth part explores the status and reasons for the changes in the complexity and simplicity of "Jiang",firstly,by selecting the literary corpus of the same period and highlighting the differences in the use of "Jang" from the perspective of text-white comparison, secondly,by combing the corpus over time and drawing on previous research results, four categories are summarized The use of "will" in modern Chinese: the verb "will" has been morphed, the adverb "will" has grown, the auxiliary"will The use of the preposition "will" in modern Chinese has shrunk and the preposition "will" has receded. Finally, the reasons for the change of "will" from internal and external factors are discussed, from the internal point of view, whether the combination function is powerful, whether the epithet is rich or not,the problem of adaptability of the language body and the internal competition of the multifunctional word "will",and from the external point of view, the influence of the evolution of language development, mainly From the external point of view,it is the influence of the evolution of language development, including the competition of the same kind brought by the adjustment of grammatical system, the change of common language, and the role of dialect retention. The fifth part is the conclusion. It summarizes the whole paper, points out the significance of the research results for the study of the evolution of Chinese multifunctional words, and points out the shortcomings of this paper.
