| Now,more and more Chinese documentaries are facing overseas audiences.However,in the process of “going global”,Chinese documentaries are experiencing many difficulties,such as the problem of expanding the audience market and the conflicts of cultures and values between different countries.The Chinese documentaries seen by foreign audiences are not exactly the same as what seen by the domestic audiences,and many of them are edited.Therefore,it has become an urgent task for documentary translators to ensure the acceptability of overseas audiences in terms of language,and at the same time,to show the authentic features of China.Among the factors affecting the overseas acceptance of China documentaries,translation is the foremost.Hence,documentary translation should not only solve the linguistic problem,but also consider how to make translation more in line with the basic characteristics of documentary,so that audiences with different cultural backgrounds can understand the contents of the same documentary well.Based on the second season of documentary North of the Yellow River,this report takes the Chinese-English consecutive interpreting practice as the simulated practice corpus,analyzing the problems encountered in this practice under the guidance of the interpretive theory,and puts forward corresponding solutions.Interpretive school believes that the meaning of the source language is the key of the interpreting,not the structure or form of the language.Interpreters must first listen to the source language,get rid of the linguistic form of the source language,grasp the core meaning,and reorganize the received information before they can output the interpreting.In the documentary North of the Yellow River,the linguistic characteristics such as culture-loaded words and poems are particularly prominent,thus the interpretive theory can effectively guide the interpreter to solve such problems.The interpreter adopts corresponding interpreting methods and techniques,such as amplification,omission,literal translation,free translation and transliteration.The interpreter hopes that the analysis and summary of this simulated interpreting practice can provide some help for the future interpreting practice. |
