A Report On Simulated C-E Simultaneous Interpreting Of The 24 Solar Terms Under The Guidance Of Interpretive Theory

The twenty-four solar terms culture is the Chinese wisdom in the time.The successful application for World Heritage of the twenty-four solar terms has awakened the cultural memory of the Chinese nation,stimulating the vitality of the inheritance,spread,creation and transformation of the solar terms culture,which makes the artistic creativity and international expression more and more fruitful.The twenty-four solar terms have become a cultural focus of people’s attention nationwide and a typical representative of Chinese fine traditional culture going international.The documentary,The 24 Solar Terms,is a reality show documentary of cultural exploration on Zhejiang TV.Through on-the-spot filming of natural changes,field visits and dialogues between professionals,this program allows us to appreciate the life,customs and the history under the guidance of nature,telling us to do things in accordance with the season,eat the food in accordance with the season,feel the solar term culture,and truly understand this Chinese wisdom.This report uses documentary,The 24 Solar Terms,as the corpus for simulated simultaneous interpreting,guided by the interpretive theory.It applies the interpretive theory to various difficulties like colloquial expressions,cultural-loaded expressions and terminology,etc.encountered in the interpreting process.The problems in this practice are divided from three perspectives: logical comprehension,de-verbalization and reexpression,specifically including repetition,broken sentences,complex sentence structure,the interpreting of Chinese four-character expressions,idioms,ancient poetry,etc.The interpreter explores practical and effective interpreting strategies in the process through case analysis,including paraphrase,conversion,omission and addition,etc.The interpreter takes the interpreting practice of this documentary as an example,not only helping more people to understand the unique wisdom of nature,but also facilitating the worldwide spread of Chinese solar terms culture.The interpreter hopes that through this simulated interpreting practice report,the interpreter will be more proficient in using interpreting strategies,improve her interpreting level,and provide experience for future interpreting practice.
