Pride,as a positive emotion type in self-conscious emotions,is an emotional experience in which people attribute success to ability or effort after experiencing achievement events,and has increasingly received attention and research.Pride is divided into authentic pride and hubristic pride.The two different dimensions of pride have different effects and social functions on individual psychological quality and behavioral development.Existing research has found that pride can predict self-control,and self-control can predict the occurrence of deceptive behavior.As one kind of unethical behavior,whether pride can directly predict deceptive behavior and the mechanism of self-control between the two dimensions of trait pride and deceptive behavior are unknown.In order to explore the relationship and influence between the two dimensions of pride and self-control and deceptive behavior among Chinese college students,the first study adopted a questionnaire measurement method to mainly explore the relationship between the two dimensions of pride and deceptive behavior tendency and the mechanism of self-control in it.In the second study,two dimensions of state pride were induced by emotional manipulation,and self-control ability and deception behavior were quantified by "looking for differences" experimental paradigm to explore whether state pride had significant differences in self-control and deception behavior.The results showed that trait authentic pride significantly negatively predicted the tendency of deceptive behavior,and self-control played a major intermediary role;The trait hubristic pride significantly positively predicted the tendency of deceptive behavior,and self-control played a part of intermediary role.Compared with the subjects with authentic pride,the subjects with hubristic pride have lower self-control;There was no significant difference in deception.The results show that the higher the individual has,the more authentic pride can increase selfcontrol,and then reduce the tendency of deceptive behavior;The higher the individual has,the more hubristic pride he is,the less self-control he is,and the more deceptive he is.Compared with the individuals with hubristic pride,the individuals with authentic pride have stronger self-control ability,but there is no difference in deception.The results of this study further enriched the relationship between the two dimensions of pride in self-conscious emotion and self-control and deception,as well as the impact of after-effects,and provided a new perspective for the future prevention and intervention of psychological and behavioral problems secondary to the two dimensions of pride.
