Exploration And Practice Of Chinese “Dragon” Cultural Elements In Modern And Contemporary Sculpture Creation

Chinese traditional culture is extensive and profound,and the cultural precipitation of five thousand years also gives art its own national character.Art is always changing with the development of culture.Chinese culture needs to be inherited and promoted,while contemporary art also needs to inherit and innovate.Modern and contemporary sculpture,as one of the main modes of communication and expression of Traditional Chinese culture,needs to keep pace with The Times in terms of sculpture shape and spirit.“Dragon” has witnessed the whole process of the Chinese nation from its origin to its maturity.It can not only “inherit the ancient ”,but also“ open up new ”,and follow the pace of the Chinese nation to advance and develop,which is exactly the most appropriate topic for research.This paper collects,sorts out and interprets the Chinese “dragon” element from the cultural perspective,analyzes its formative process and reasons based on relevant documents and historical materials,and analyzes the spiritual connotation and symbolic significance of the Chinese “dragon” element through the BOOK of Changes.After that,a series of creations are made to arouse people’s own thinking.Finally,formal language is extracted through digital sculpture technology,new media is introduced,and modern and contemporary elements are explored and integrated to create modern and contemporary sculptures with more characteristics of The Times.After determining the research direction of this topic,literature research,case analysis,image analysis,practical research and other methods are used in the research process to summarize its modeling characteristics and spiritual connotation,so as to find methods conducive to the dragon element in modern and contemporary sculpture creation.Gradually formed the idea of re-interpretation and reconstruction of the research object,through the sculpture creation practice of the Series of Works“Dragon Travel World”,combined with the contents of my own research and learning,tried to verify each other in theory and practice.This article on the history of the modelling of the Chinese “dragon” culture elements to conduct a comprehensive combing and spirit in the sense of parsing,more in-depth mining of Chinese national characteristics and contemporary significance of traditional culture and art image,and then create a rich era characteristics and significance,but also has the national characteristics of modern and contemporary sculpture,trigger a wider group focus on Chinese traditional culture.
