| Lu Nei’s novels are good at choosing and using images to construct a world rich in connotation,thus enhancing the aesthetic meaning and thought depth of his works.This thesis takes Lu Nei’s novels as the object,analyzes the unique use of images and its roots,explores the functions and ideological connotations of images,and then provides a comprehensive and profound cognition of the world of images in his novels,on this basis,further grasps the unique artistic achievements of his novels.This thesis is divided into four chapters in addition to the introduction and conclusion: the first chapter analyzes the types of images in Lu Nei’s novels.The images in Lu Nei’s novels are diverse and profound,and can be divided into four categories: mythological image,natural image,social image and disease image.Lu Nei combines different types of images appropriately according to different narrative strategies and the need for emotional expression,forming a distinctive textual texture.The second chapter examines the functions of images in Lu Nei’s novels.The images in Lu Nei’s novels are not only symbolic,but also carries narrative and aesthetic functions,playing an important role in unblocking the narrative,shaping characters,unifying the narrative theme,creating a gloomy mood,and rendering confusion.The third chapter analyzes the thoughts of Lu Nei’s images from the perspective of the connotations of images,with selecting specific images in Lu Nei’s novels,and analyzing the ideological connotations expressed by his images in three aspects,namely,despairing youth,life redemption and compassion.The fourth chapter examines the causes of Lu Nei’s images.The root causes of Lu Nei’s images are analyzed in terms of his “Jiangnan” regional imprint,rich work experience,the influence of his post-“70” generation identity,his dual literary reading experience,and his stance on writing with concern and sympathy for ordinary people.The conclusion of the thesis disserts the characteristics and significance of the image writing in Lu Nei’s novels. |
