| The psychological neglect is not only a negative experience, but also a passive life experience.Middle school students are in a period of psychological sensitivity.Middle school students who have suffered psychological neglect may have difficulties in recognizing others’ emotions and expressing their feelings and ideas appropriately.Psychological neglect will not only affect their learning and life, but also affect their perception of life satisfaction. Therefore, this study takes the early family growth environment of individuals as the starting point, and adopts the horizontal research design and the vertical research design to investigate how the psychological neglect of middle school students affects their life satisfaction. The first study is a horizontal design to explore the mediating role of alienation and belief in a just world between psychological neglect and life satisfaction of middle school students. The second study used longitudinal design to further discuss the relationship between psychological neglect and life satisfaction of middle school students. In study 1,1179 middle school students in Jiangxi Province and Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region were measured with the Psychological Neglect scale of Children Psychological Abuse and Neglect Scale,General Alienation Scale,Belief in a Just World Scale and Satisfaction with Life Sacle. The results are as follows:(1)Psychological neglect is significantly negatively correlated with life satisfaction, alienation is significantly negatively correlated with life satisfaction, and belief in a just world is significantly positively correlated with life satisfaction.(2)Alienation plays a mediating role between psychological neglect and life satisfaction.(3)Belief in a just world also plays a mediating role between psychological neglect and life satisfaction.(4)Alienation and belief in a just world play a chain mediating role between psychological neglect and life satisfaction.Due to the epidemic, study 2 used the same scale as study 1 to test 423 middle school students in two middle schools in Jiangxi Province, with a time interval of six months,in order to investigate the impact of psychological neglect on life satisfaction from the perspective of development. The results are as follows:(1)Psychological neglect at T1 and T2 time points is significantly negatively correlated with life satisfaction at T1 and T2 time points, significantly positively correlated with Alienation at T1 and T2 time points, and significantly negatively correlated with belief in a just world at T1 and T2 time points.(2)Alienation at T1 and T2 time points was negatively correlated with life satisfaction at T1 and T2 time points;Belief in a just world at time points T1 and T2 were significantly and positively correlated with life satisfaction at time points T1 and T2.(3)Psychological neglect at time point T1 can significantly predict life satisfaction,Alienation and belief in a just world at time T2.(4)Alienation and belief in a just world at T2 time point play a chain mediating role between psychological neglect at T1 time point and life satisfaction at T2 time point.Based on the results of study 1 and study 2,the results are as follows:(1)Psychological neglect is significantly negatively correlated with life satisfaction, alienation is significantly negatively correlated with life satisfaction, and belief in a just world is significantly positively correlated with life satisfaction.(2)Alienation and belief in a just world played a chain mediating role between middle school students’ psychological neglect and life satisfaction. The results support the ecological systems theory and point out that the family growth environment in childhood, especially the micro system composed of parents or other guardians, will have a great impact on the growth and development of individuals. |
