The Study Of Yuan Haowen’s Ji Proses | | Posted on:2024-05-16 | Degree:Master | Type:Thesis | | Country:China | Candidate:X Y Zeng | Full Text:PDF | | GTID:2555307109482584 | Subject:Ancient Chinese literature | | Abstract/Summary: | PDF Full Text Request | | The Ji Prose was originally used in objective descriptions,but with the development of the genre and the advancement of literary concepts,it gradually matured and becoming independent.Yuan has survived 49 proses,which are not only of high literary value,but also involve writing about the realities of society and are of high historical value.This article will adopt a comparative research approach based on knowledge of the people and the world,classifying the proses according to their content and subject matter,focusing comprehensively on those from the perspectives of education,politics,religion and literature,and revealing the unique position of his proses in the history of literature.The first part explores the context of Yuan Haowen’s Ji proses.The identity of the descendants of Xianbei influenced Yuan’s character,and in terms of literary geography,the long-established ethnic temperament further influenced his proses,leading him to develop a generous and sombre literary style.On the other hand,Yuan Jie influenced Yuan’s political outlook,literary outlook and even his sense of cultural heritage.In addition,the social realities of the Jin and Yuan periods created an objective need for expression.In the second part,Yuan Haohuen’s Ji proses are divided into four sections according to their content.The school proses(学记)reflect Yuan’s concept of teaching for politics and Confucianism;the temple proses(庙观记)reflect Yuan’s open religious vision and rational religious outlook;the official works proses(官府工程记)have a very different tendency in two periods,from which we can get a glimpse of Yuan’s change in political attitude;and finally the landscape travel proses(山水游记)show the literati style and scholarship.The third part discusses the artistic style of Yuan Haowen’s Ji proses,including the proper style of writing and the indefinite style of writing.Yuan’s works based on the elegant tradition of the Shijing(雅正传统),at the same time,he respected the ancient and learned from it,with an elegant style of writing and a fine use of allusions; he learned from many teachers,forming his own unique artistic style of magnificent and bright(正大明达);Yuan’s writing was flexible,besides his language varies in form,using both rhyme and prose.The fourth section discusses the influence of Yuan Haohuen’s Ji proses.Yuan’s writing had broken the style(破体)of the Ji proses formed since the Tang and Song dynasties,and has a grand thrust and a lofty intention.A selection of works by eight great authors of the Jin,Yuan and Ming dynasties(《金元明八大家文选》)took a comprehensive look at Yuan’s Ji proses,combining the outstanding value of his journals with the rise from one literary category to an evaluation of Yuan’s entire prose writing and even the status of prose.Lastly,the Ji proses are a part of history recorded in literature,storing more information about the old days and serving as historical material. | | Keywords/Search Tags: | Yuan Haowen, the Ji Prose, awareness, breaking up the genre, historical value | PDF Full Text Request | Related items |
