| This paper studies the role of Edmund Husserl’s theory of imagination in essential intuition, which is an important part of Edmund Husserl’s phenomenology and the foundation of Edmund Husserl’s essential intuition.Although Edmund Husserl did not systematically discuss the problem of imagination,it was interspersed in his thinking at various times.Edmund Husserl’s theory of imagination is based on his theory of intentionality, and imagination plays an important role in Edmund Husserl’s essential intuition.Edmund Husserl thought phenomenology was a science of essence.First of all,the first problem to be overcome by phenomenology is the problem of essence and phenomenon.Phenomenology believes that essence and phenomenon are not separated as previously thought, that is,essence is hidden behind phenomenon.Phenomenology holds that the essence is in the phenomenon, not behind the phenomenon, even the phenomenon is the essence.Secondly, the construction of the universal is also the concern of phenomenology, and the construction of the universal cannot only rely on perception, but must be done through imagination, imagination has a great innate advantage in the construction of the universal.Husserl believes that perception has great advantages in grasping individual objects, but imagination takes precedence over perception in grasping universal things. In the essential intuition method, imagination has the fundamental position and important role, and the essential intuition process is based on the change of free imagination. Finally, this paper focuses on the role of perception and imagination in the construction of individual objects, and the important role of free imagination in the construction of universal things. |
