| Interpersonal sensitivity is a susceptible factor of depression and anxiety, which may have a negative impact on junior high school students’ interpersonal relationship, academic performance and understanding of social support.According to the observational learning theory, parents are the first communication objects of children, and their interpersonal sensitivity is likely to affect their children’s interpersonal sensitivity. As important factors in the family environment, the quality of parents’ marriage and parental rearing patterns are the basis and ways for parents to educate their children. Therefore, this study investigates the intergenerational transmission mechanism of junior high school students’ interpersonal sensitivity, and takes the quality of parents’ marriage and parental rearing patterns as intermediary variables, thus constructing a chain intermediary model of intergenerational transmission of interpersonal sensitivity. This study is divided into the following two parts:In the first study, junior high school students, their fathers and mothers were investigated by questionnaire. The research tools were Interpersonal Sensitivity Scale(IPSM),Simplified Parenting Style Chinese Version Scale and Olson Marital Quality Questionnaire(ENRICH),and finally 437 sets of valid parent-child pairing data were obtained.Descriptive statistics, relationship analysis between variables and chain intermediary model test are carried out on the data. The results show that:(1)There are significant differences in interpersonal sensitivity between parents; There is a significant difference between father’s parenting style and mother’s parenting style; There is no significant difference between father’s marital quality and mother’s.(2)The interpersonal sensitivity of junior middle school students is significantly different in grade;Parents’ emotional warmth, parents’ rejection and father’s overprotection are significantly different in grade;Father’s emotional warmth is significantly different in the place of origin: parents’ marital quality is significantly different in grade.(3)Mothers’ interpersonal sensitivity can positively predict their children’s interpersonal sensitivity.(4)Mother’s marital quality and mother’s parenting style play a chain intermediary role in the relationship between mother’s interpersonal sensitivity and children’s interpersonal sensitivity. In the second study, interview method was adopted, and qualified junior high school students were interviewed face to face by qualitative research method on the basis of certain data, which allowed and encouraged the subjects to describe their family environment and past experiences in more detail. While supplementing and supporting the research results, they further understood the specific characteristics of interpersonal sensitivity of parents and children and the influencing factors of interpersonal sensitivity of junior high school students from a more open and extensive perspective, which enriched the research results.Through interviews,we found that:Parents’ conflict, parents’ overprotection and parents’ interpersonal sensitivity in family environment are consistent with the influencing factors of junior middle school students’ interpersonal sensitivity in questionnaire survey. At the same time,it is also found that other characteristics of parents(such as low educational level and weak educational ability)and other characteristics of children(such as dissatisfaction with physical appearance, poor physical condition and low learning and social skills)are also important risk factors affecting interpersonal sensitivity.Based on this, this study concludes that parents’ interpersonal sensitivity can not only directly affect their children’s interpersonal sensitivity, but also indirectly affect their children’s interpersonal sensitivity through the quality of their parents’ marriage and parental rearing patterns. The results of this study provide empirical support for understanding the intergenerational transmission of interpersonal sensitivity, help to provide important theoretical support for the growth, development and education of junior high school students, and its research results can also lead parents to think and act in the interaction between husband and wife and family education. |
