| In "in Datong Book",Kang Youwei absorbed Buddhism,western evolutionism and other ideas,relying on the Confucian theory of "three generations" to describe an imaginative "peaceful and kind world".Kang Youwei takes it as his duty to inherit the Confucian orthodoxy,and the Confucian educational tradition has always attached importance to the blood network-taking "home" as the center,regardless of "five ethics" or "three cardinal guides".But Kang Youwei’s idea of an ideal society wants to "go to the family world".What is his reason and basis? In the world of great harmony,can Confucian ethics be maintained? Is Kang’s "heavenly people" a departure from Confucianism or a development? Based on the above-mentioned problem consciousness,this paper analyzes the text of "Going home for the people" in Datong Book,and discusses the ideological tension contained in "Going home" in the ideal social view of Datong Book.Kang Youwei did not deny that "home" maintains the way of husband and wife,father and son,and brothers."The way of harmony between husband and wife,father and son,and brothers is pushed to its extreme,and it will be the best way for human beings to get along with others if it is China’s method." He also said that "filial piety is the foundation of humanity".On filial piety,Europe and the United States are not as good as China,and Christianity is not as good as Confucianism."I take China and I learn from Confucius".At the same time,he also believes that the strong clan system gives birth to "the danger of division","I don’t know the country but only know the surname",and "a country with ten thousand surnames is like all nations";China people’s filial piety,"mostly empty,rarely practiced";Family members are strong,and in daily life,there is no limit to resentment."When the country is at peace,there is no peace at home";If there is a family,everyone has his own son,and selfishness and selfish desires are rampant."The worse human nature is,the worse humanity is." In a word,the existence of "family boundary" is "a necessary tool for humanitarian support in troubled times",but it is "the greatest obstacle to separation in Taiping times" His conclusion is: "The only way to achieve peace,independence and goodness is to go to the country and go home".The proposal of Datong Book about an ideal society is to establish a "public government" and set up various institutions of public support,public education and public pension to take charge of the birth,illness and death of the person in charge.Kang Youwei has an insight into the tragic situation that arriving home is both our "birthplace" and our "death place".His ideological contradiction lies in,on the one hand,affirming that Confucian ethics embodies "the foundation of humanity" and conforms to the ethics of blood feelings,which is the promotion and expansion of "love quality" and "love power" as nature.People love their family and their country,and "the wider their love power,the farther their unity is";On the other hand,it is believed that natural love is "private" and constitutes the "boundary"(barrier)between interpersonal and group communication.Kang Youwei’s solution to this contradiction is to give "home" timeliness,and to position the rationality of "home boundary" as cultivating "personality in troubled times",but to form "personality in peaceful times" without "privacy",it is necessary to "go to home boundary".However,the homeless and stateless "heavenly people" have been far away from the Confucian tradition.Kang Youwei left a complex and rich ideological legacy to future generations. |
