Yu Yingshi’s Inheritance And Development Of Qian Mu’s Historical Thought | | Posted on:2024-04-02 | Degree:Master | Type:Thesis | | Country:China | Candidate:G C Liu | Full Text:PDF | | GTID:2555307121979289 | Subject:Chinese history | | Abstract/Summary: | PDF Full Text Request | | Qian Mu and Yu Yingshi,both teachers and students,are leaders in history.They are both famous in the academic circle for their governance of Chinese history.Based on Qian Mu’s cultural view,national thought and history,this paper discusses Yu Yingshi’s inheritance and development of Qian Mu’s historical thought.Through these three aspects,it explores the track of their academic inheritance and Qian and Yu’s academic inner logic.Qian Mu’s thought of history is extensive and profound,but its main content is concentrated in three aspects: cultural view,national thought and historical standard.Culturally;Qian Mu takes Western culture as the comparison object to highlight the particularity of Chinese traditional culture and affirm that Chinese traditional culture has its own value in modern times.We should treat traditional culture with a kind of "warmth and respect" attitude.In terms of national ideology;Qian Mu took the thought of national historiography as the academic purpose of his life.The research of culturology and the research of historical research are all for the service of his national thought,which is the core of his historical thought.On a historical basis;Qian Mu took historical research as his academic foothold,and opened up thousands of Chinese academic families with history,explored the beauty of traditional Chinese culture with history,and demonstrated the spirit of the Chinese nation with history.Yu Yingshi’s inheritance and development of Qian Mu’s thought of history is in all aspects,from the perspective of culture;Yu Yingshi went further on Qian Mu’s inheritance,and expounded the similarities and differences between Chinese and Western cultures with the value system of social life,affirming the value of traditional Chinese culture,which is indispensable in the process of China’s modernization.He explains how traditional culture has played a role in China’s modernization.In terms of national ideology;Yu Yingshi did not have Qian Mu’s strong nationalistic thoughts,but he expressed his national thoughts with his unique "Chinese feelings".Born here,thinking of the motherland,cultural edification is beyond time and space.On a historical basis;On the basis of inheriting Qian Mu’s knowledge of Chinese learning through history,Yu Yingshi further used history society to learn "the study of China and the West".Of course,the purpose of "learning of China and the West" through history is to better explain the cultural differences between China and the West,and the value of traditional Chinese culture in modern times.To sum up Qian and Yu’s thoughts on history,they both take history as the foothold of learning and care for Chinese traditional culture as the ultimate goal.Yu Yingshi’s inheritance and development of Qian Mu’s historiography thought is the realistic portrayal of the concern of a generation of scholars for the destiny of Chinese culture,and also the reflection of countless scholars on the future of the Chinese nation in modern times. | | Keywords/Search Tags: | Qian Mu, Yu Yingshi, Cultural view, National thought, Historical standard, Inheritance and development | PDF Full Text Request | Related items |
